The Culture and Convention Center KKL Luzern is located in the heart of the city, directly on Lake Lucerne. The world-famous concert hall impresses with its acoustics, and the variable Lucerne Hall is just as suitable for concerts as it is for congresses and events. The KKL Luzern was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel and opened the concert hall in 1998 as the centerpiece of the KKL Luzern. In 2023, the KKL Luzern celebrated its 25th anniversary under the motto “Zusammen besonderes erleben”.
Since the first Lucerne Festival was held in 1938, the concert series has branched out and much grown. Today, the festival welcomes over 120,000 visitors a year and organizes various classical music concerts at Easter, in summer and in autumn.

As the oldest symphony orchestra in Switzerland – founded in 1805 – it has gained international recognition far beyond its region and is a welcome guest on stages around the world – from Buenos Aires to Tokyo. In addition, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra organizes the piano festival “Le Piano Symphonique”. Since 2024, the legendary pianist Martha Argerich has been “Pianiste AssociĂ©e” of the piano festival.
